Decyl Glucoside. It is a non-ionic surfactant derived from from corn and natural oils. It is very mild, it can lower overall irritation potential in formulations with more aggressive anionic surfactants. This, combined with its excellent foam properties, makes it ideal choice as a secondary surfactant in body/skin cleansers, bubble baths, and facial cleansers (including wipes).
The appearance of Decyl Glucoside is a viscous, slightly yellow, turbid liquid. In a solution of 10% water, the pH is 11.5 – 12.5. It is tolerant of high electrolyte formulations and compatible with cationic conditioning agents. General usage rates are 2%-10%
